Gavin Wimsatt, Former Rutgers QB, Could Be Joining the Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats are in need of a backup quarterback, and Rutgers QB Gavin Wimsatt might be the solution. Wimsatt, a highly recruited QB, has entered the transfer portal after losing the starting job at Rutgers.

Wimsatt, a native of Owensboro, originally committed to Rutgers over other schools like UK, Louisville, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss. He started 18 games for the Scarlett Knights, accumulating 1735 yards and nine touchdowns this past season.

With limited experience in the QB room, Wimsatt could be a valuable addition to the Wildcats. The coaching staff has shown interest in him, especially after hosting UCLA QB Collin Schlee for a visit.

While it's possible that Wimsatt may look for a starting position elsewhere, joining the Kentucky Wildcats could be a strategic move for him late in the transfer window.
