Ohio State Buckeyes had a successful weekend on the recruiting trail as four-star quarterback Prentiss “Air” Noland announced his verbal commitment to the program. Noland, who hails from Langston Hughes High School in Georgia, was previously without an offer from the Buckeyes but impressed during his visit to the campus.
The 6-A Player of the Year in Georgia, Noland fits the physical profile required by Ohio State head coach Ryan Day for his quarterbacks. At 6-foot-2 and with a frame capable of carrying 215 pounds, Noland has the ideal size to navigate the Big Ten Conference. In fact, he is the only left-handed quarterback the Buckeyes have recruited in the modern era.
Noland’s junior season highlight reel displays his impressive arm talent, touchdown throws, and high football IQ. The quarterback has the ability to change the velocity of his throws, putting plenty of air on a vertical route to beat a safety and then showing off his well-placed throws up the seam.
The teenager shows incredible skill in manipulating opposition defenses with his eyes to create space and better throwing opportunities. He does not shy away from using his athleticism as an added weapon, even on a hard play-action where he scrambles for a first down.
For Noland, playing for the Buckeyes is a dream fulfilled, having been impressed with the school’s recent history of developing first-round quarterbacks. His recent verbal commitment adds more excitement to Ohio State’s recruiting class in 2024, which is already solid.
As the Buckeyes’ football team focuses on finishing strong on both sides of the ball, they can count on Noland to be a cornerstone in their recruiting efforts.
