24 Football Bowl Subdivision programs have new head coaches, with some bringing in optimism for important changes while others face major challenges. Coaches like Troy Taylor at Stanford, Deion Sanders at Colorado, and Brent Key at Georgia Tech are anticipated to make positive impacts, but wins may not come so easily for coaches like G.J. Kinne at Texas State, Biff Poggi at Charlotte, and Alex Golesh at South Florida. Power Five coaches like Kenny Dillingham, Hugh Freeze, and Scott Satterfield may face criticism for missing a bowl, but nobody realistically expects a league title. Luke Fickell at Wisconsin may oversee a nine-win program that is not a conference favorite, with a good schedule and quarterback Tanner Mordecai running an Air Raid offense. Jamey Chadwell at Liberty and Tim Beck at Coastal Carolina are also expected to make competitive runs in Conference USA.
