One name that has surfaced once again in the NCAA transfer portal is Emmanuel Pregnon, a Wyoming offensive lineman who has received 20 different offers from various schools hoping to land him for the upcoming football season.
Although Pregnon did not play college football for the first two years with Wyoming, he finally started at guard last year, and suddenly, he has become a hot commodity in the spring transfer portal window. Pregnon is a former member of the Class of 2020, but he was not ranked according to the On3 Industry Ranking, which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
According to Pregnon, many Power Five programs are interested in him, as evidenced by the scholarship offers he has received from schools such as Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Penn State, Charlotte, Arizona State, Auburn, Kentucky, Washington State, Colorado, Ole Miss, UCLA, Indiana, Oregon, Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue, and Arizona.
Pregnon has three years of eligibility remaining, making him an even more attractive prospect for these schools.
“He’s big, he’s powerful, he moves well, and he has multiple years, and that’s what everybody’s looking for,” said an SEC offensive line coach about Pregnon. “You can tell he’s got a high ceiling, a huge ceiling.”
The NCAA Transfer Portal is a private database that covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II, and III levels, and it is where student-athletes who wish to transfer can be found. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the compliance office enters the player’s name in the database, allowing other schools to contact the player.
In the meantime, Pregnon continues to consider the offers he has received and decide which school he will be playing for next.
