ESPN has highlighted six American football players who went from unranked or lowly ranked high school recruits to potential Day One NFL draft picks. Among them is Dalton Kincaid, who played one year of high school football after dominating on the basketball court yet is now a projected 1st rounder in the 2023 NFL Draft. Other prospects include getting Texas A&M’s Giles Wilson, Cincinnati’s Sauce Gardner, Illinois’ Tony Adams and Iowa’s Van Ness. The report emphasised that succesfull development is often based on circumstance, with the right opportunities and coaches benefiting less experienced players when they leave high school.
