Jaylen Harrell, the defensive lineman for University of Michigan, has been praised by the team’s defensive coordinator Jesse Minter for his consistent and technical ability to play both against the run and the pass. According to Minter, Harrell is the “most self-made player” on the Wolverines’ roster. His work ethic, training, studies of other players, and commitment to both physical and defensive play has gained him the trust of the coaching staff, despite the fact that he began his athletic career as a MIKE linebacker in high school before transitioning to the edge.
Minter also lauded Harrell for a major turning point play he made during a game against Ohio State last season, which he believes instilled a sense of confidence in the team that allowed them to regain their composure and eventually dominate the field. This allowed Harrell to showcase his versatility and capability as a player, performing exceptionally well during the Big Ten Championship game. Minter expects Harrell to continue his upward trajectory this season and rack up big stats that will contribute to the Wolverines’ success.
