Defensive back Ja’Qurious Conley is the latest to enter the North Carolina Tar Heels football program’s transfer portal. Conley is the fifth UNC player to enter the portal this year, all on the defensive side of the ball, taking a toll on the team’s secondary, which struggled last season under Gene Chizik. He suffered a knee injury in November 2021 that impeded his career development. In three seasons, Conley played in 23 games and started in 11. UNC also lost Storm Duck and Tony Grimes in the last season to the transfer portal.
