
Alabama quarterbacks Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson struggled during the team’s annual A-Day scrimmage, throwing a combined three interceptions and completing fewer than half of their passes. While coach Nick Saban said the quarterbacks needed to evaluate whether they were playing winning football, he did express encouragement for true freshman quarterbacks Dylan Lonergan and Eli Holstein. Saban emphasized that the main priority is helping the quarterbacks to understand the opposing team’s defense, carefully going through their progressions, and develop confidence in the passing game. Overall, Saban stated he was pleased with the team’s toughness and physicality during spring practice.
