BPEA EQT is buying Florida-based IMG Academy, the boarding school that has trained thousands of athletes, for $1.25bn, the school’s previous owner, Endeavor, announced on Tuesday. The school, founded in 1978 by Nick Bollettieri as a tennis academy, has placed over 30,000 students on college rosters through 2022 and constantly attracts top-tier athletes to its elite campus and facilities. In 2023, IMG produced two five-star football recruits and had 16 recruits sign with Power 5 programs. The football programme’s 2024 recruiting class is anchored by six top-100 recruits in the 247Sports Composite.
