Nashville’s Metro Council has approved plans for a $2.1bn domed stadium for the Tennessee Titans, with at least $1.26bn in public funding, making it the largest public priced stadium in US history. The stadium is intended to be located east of Nissan Stadium, current home of the franchise. The new, domed stadium would make Nashville eligible to host the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff games and major winter concerts, as the city looks to build on its status as a growing tourism destination. The project is the largest in Nashville’s history. The Titans are expected to bring around $800m in private revenue.
