James Turner, a four-year kicker at Louisville and a native of southeast Michigan, has committed to the University of Michigan. Turner, who appeared in 42 games at Louisville, converted 47 of his 59 field-goal attempts from 2019 to 2022, with a near 80-percent conversion rate, and was a two-time all-ACC honorable mention selection. It is unclear whether he will be on scholarship. Turner will compete with Michigan sophomore Tommy Doman for the starting place-kicking job, while freshman recruit Adam Samaha is expected to join the team this summer.
