
The 2023 NFL draft recently took place, and Ohio State had several players drafted, including C.J. Stroud, Paris Johnson Jr., and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who were all drafted within the first 20 picks. Ohio State has three top-15 picks for the fourth time ever. Fans sounded off on social media as Buckeye Nation gave their reactions to the draft picks. The NFL draft began on Thursday, with the first round taking place; Friday saw the second and third rounds of the draft, while rounds four to seven happened on Saturday, with the first pick of the fourth round happening at noon.
Ohio State had its third first-round wide receiver in two years as the Seattle Seahawks drafted Jaxon Smith-Njigba, while the Arizona Cardinals traded up to select Paris Johnson Jr. as the sixth pick. C.J. Stroud became Ohio State’s highest-drafted quarterback ever as the Houston Texans selected him with the second overall pick.
Ryan Day thanked some of his former players for their time at Ohio State before the NFL draft, from C.J. Stroud to Zach Harrison. C.J. Stroud says his S2 Cognition score doesn’t reflect his football aptitude because he can process well and that you can’t play at Ohio State and not be smart. Finally, Jaxon Smith-Njigba is “trying to take advantage of it all” on the eve of NFL draft night and thinks three Buckeye wide receivers could be standing in his shoes at this time next year.
