Former Michigan Linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green Commits to Colorado Buffaloes - Boosting Defensive Power
Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have secured another commitment from the transfer portal. Nikhai Hill-Green, a former Michigan linebacker and Charlotte transfer, has announced his commitment to Colorado. A team captain at Charlotte, he earned third-team All-AAC honors and recorded 73 tackles. Now, he's set to join the Buffaloes and contribute to turning around a defense that allowed an average of 35.9 points per game.
Hill-Green considered Arkansas, Louisville, and Missouri before ultimately choosing Colorado. His decision was influenced by the program's NFL defensive scheme and commitment to maximizing player potential. He highlighted the alignment between his goals and the Coach Prime effect present at Colorado.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 232 pounds, the grad transfer made visits to Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Michigan before committing to Colorado. During his time at Michigan, Hill-Green showcased his skills despite facing some injuries, making significant contributions to the team's success, including helping them reach the College Football Playoff.
Colorado has been actively recruiting transfers, with commitments from players like Dayon Hayes, Payton Kirkland, Rayyan Buell, Dallan Hayden, and Rashad Amos. Hill-Green expressed his admiration for defensive coordinator Rob Livingston, who brings NFL experience from his tenure with the Cincinnati Bengals.
As Hill-Green prepares to join Colorado, he is focused on contributing in any way necessary to help the team win games and rebuild its defense. His commitment adds another layer of talent to the Buffaloes' roster, strengthening their prospects for success in the upcoming seasons.
