Top College Football Recruits to Watch as National Signing Day Approaches

The 2024 college football recruiting cycle has been relatively drama-free so far, with most of the top recruits already committed during the early signing period. However, there are still a few key players to watch as National Signing Day approaches.

One player to keep an eye on is five-star wide receiver Terry Bussey. He remains committed to Texas A&M but did not sign during the early period. LSU and Georgia are both still in the running for his commitment, but the Aggies are currently in the lead.

Another top recruit is five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, who is expected to sign with LSU. He committed to the Tigers on New Year's Eve and all signs point to him sticking with that decision.

Four-star wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman initially signed with Arkansas, but he has since requested a release from his National Letter of Intent after his primary recruiter left the program. Baylor, Houston, and Texas A&M are now competing to land him.

Four-star athlete Rahshawn Clark flipped his commitment from Cal to Arizona, but with coaching changes at both schools, it looks like he will ultimately stay close to home and sign with Washington.

Four-star running back J'Marion Burnette was initially favored to go to Arkansas, but the Razorbacks canceled his official visit. Houston is now the frontrunner, although Auburn is making a late push.

Three-star defensive lineman Keona Wilhite originally committed to Arizona but has since been pursued by Nebraska, UCLA, and Michigan State. Nebraska is the current favorite to land him.

Three-star defensive back CJ Heard had rumors of UCLA and Colorado being top contenders, but he never visited either school. Instead, he took a visit to FAU and is expected to sign with the Owls.

Three-star defensive back Khamani Hudson initially committed to Lamar but did not sign in December. Houston is now the favorite to secure his commitment.

Three-star wide receiver Zycarl Lewis was originally committed to Colorado but is now leaning towards Tulane as signing day approaches.

As National Signing Day approaches, it will be interesting to see where these top recruits ultimately sign. For the latest recruiting news and coverage, visit 247Sports.
